Another deck review you for you today, this one courtesy of Viridian. He already showed off this awesome deck on his youtube channel (check it out here), but he kindly let me share it here too along with some thoughts. This is our second Norso Planum deck review. You can find the first Norso deck review, The Traders of Wishwell, here.

Here’s the man himself on the deck:
“It’s not only a really powerful palette, but also very fun to play. Reason being all the cards in this palette synergise so well that it really doesn’t matter how ‘bad’ your starting hand and first few turns are, the palette just always has something up its sleeve.
The general idea of the palette is to have the max amount of objects of power in a palette for this realm (pre-expansion obviously), and all of the other cards are here to make the Objects work (like the miners to make them cheaper, the Eirik and Forge to find/dig for the objects).
You cannot have a Object palette without good characters to attach them to, and the Lacringi tribe are so strong together. The mixture of shield wall, the find/dig possibilities, and the very strong strengths/resolve effects means that these characters pack a punch already. But when you then combine them with these objects you get some scary canvas set ups.
As for win conditions, this is a Chroma palette. Your main win conditions are:
– Combining Astrid with a handful of Hulder trolls for an easy 8-14 resolve per turn on her alone
– Torstein’s Gauntlet with a large amount of these trolls/locations for another easy 4-8 resolve per turn.
– Imbued in the forges. Get 3-5 objects already out (not hard to do with this palette) then use this to play another one for free, and turn a 4 shard cost, into a 2-8 shard insta-gain.
– Hulder Totem + Worship combo when you have 3+ trolls out
This palette doesn’t skimp on Control cards either, with:
– Samr Smash
– Hulder tail whip
– Brisgavi Rage
– 2x Catapults
Overall this palette has won me many 1v1’s, and quite a lot of multiplayer games. It is really fun, great combos, lots of bounce back potential, and just overall one of my fav palettes to run!”
Thanks Viridian. Personally, I’ve never been a huge fan of objects of power (though I know that’s about to change with the realm relics), as I get nervous about the idea of cards that you can only (sensibly) play if you have a character out AND which get erased if the attached character gets erased. I also get extremely nervous looking at that 10 character/10 object ratio. However, having now tried it out, I can attest to the fact that this deck is indeed a lot of fun with a surprising amount of versatility.
Thanks again for sharing.
