On the last weekend of January, there was an Achroma Grand Tournament, to celebrate the end of the Achromatic Genesis season. The victor, known as Achroma_Guide on discord, kindly shared his winning decklist with me to post here. So, without further ado, here it is:

This is an interesting mixed Salum deck. It is neither a full-on Clunker palette, nor is it a pure Dark Rainbow palette, as there is no way to find those cards (barring the 1 in 6 chance of hitting Clunker with The Veil Chaser’s Nest).

It packs a lot of the most powerful cards in Salum into a neat package: Corruped Muon Trap, Dark Rainbow, Hex Clunker (with its friends Achrom Converter and Cintimani Stone), Hostile Takeover, Apollo, Huxon, it’s all there. It’s little wonder this is a strong palette, as it’s versatile, with a decent amount of gain and control. The lack of steal and the reliance on control means I would suspect this deck being weak to decks that rely on trading to win, provided that player avoids deploying too many cards.

The deck architect himself said:
The event itself was a great experience. Despite the smaller turnout, it was a real success and the atmosphere was excellent throughout the day.
The final was a best-of-three, and after losing the first game [against a Traders palette] it definitely put the pressure on, but I managed to regroup and come back to take the win in the end., There were a few tough matchups along the way, which made the run even more rewarding.
It was great to see players travelling in having someone come all the way from Oxford really added to the event.

Looking ahead, we are now in the HAIM Initiative Season, which raises a lot of intriguing questions about Achroma lore. I wonder how many will be answered. Either way, we can expect another Grand Tournament at the end of the season in April, which (fingers crossed) I hope to attend.
